Remember that game where you shoot Pokemon with machine guns? It just got a super-effective new trailer

palworld has received a shiny new trailer during Summer Game Fest, with a January 2024 release window announced for the game. Now, if you’re wondering what Palword is, let me give you a brief introduction: it’s pokemon with machine guns. Many of them.

This creature collector is also a third-person shooter, which is a concept I’ve always wanted to see in action, and now Palworld offers it.

Check out the Summer Game Fest Palworld trailer right here.

Players will enter a beautiful world made up of different biomes to collect creatures known as ‘Friends’; many of which bear a striking resemblance to Wooloo, Lugia, Electabuzz, and more from Pokemon. In addition, the Pals also have their own elemental abilities (what a surprise!) that we can use in battle.

The trailer itself shows off the impressive environments of Palworld, with plenty of Pals and an arsenal of weapons on display. You see Pals arming machine guns, LMGs, and all sorts of gadgets, which makes it both cute and puzzling. On top of that, players can build their own farms, Pal-powered factories, and of course, go through plenty of dungeons with Pals by their side.

The idea of assembling an army of Pals to use in battle or having jobs in factories definitely seems questionable, but there’s no denying that Palword looks like an absolute stunner. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of him next year, but what do you think?

This isn’t the only Pokemon knockoff that’s gaining ground right now; We recently saw the release of Cassette Beasts for PC and Xbox, and it did very well. The appetite for monster collecting games is alive and well, and Palworld seems poised to ably capitalize on it.
