New job listings suggest Valorant could be coming to consoles
[ad_1]
Valorant has been a PC-only multiplayer shooter since it first released in 2020. This is not unusual for developer Riot Games, which currently only has games for PC or mobile platforms.
That said, it looks like this could all change in the future, with Riot Games exploring the possibility of bringing Valorant to console players as well.
Now, rumors have been circulating regarding this ever since Xbox & Bethesda Showcase in Junewhen Riot Games announced that all their games would be available on Xbox Game Pass, with pre-unlocked agent lists for new players.
This partnership with Microsoft hints that the future of Valorant could be on consoles. Just in October, one The Valorant leaker shared a screenshot to Twitter suggesting that Riot Games had added new icons for PlayStation and Xbox controllers to the game files.

As a leak, we have to take the information with a grain of salt. However, other developments suggest that Valorant’s port to consoles is actually happening. Just this morning, Riot Games shared two new job postings at Hitmarker. Both roles are for Valorant, with a roster for the role of senior game designer, consoleand another for the role of game design manager, console.
Each listing details the responsibilities of the roles, required qualifications, and a bit about Riot Games, as you’d expect. The first of the Game Design Manager’s responsibilities is: “Work with team leaders to develop a vision for combat in Valorant on consoles.” Meanwhile, a line in the senior game designer role description reads: “Design and refine features, modes, and systems to help bring console game products to market.”
While not an official announcement by any means, this does show that behind the scenes at Riot Games, the team is trying to bring their games to more platforms. There’s no telling when any of this will come to fruition, but I suspect if it does it will be a while before we can run around using the controller’s aim assist to improve our headshot chances.
What do you think of all this? Do you think Valorant should remain exclusive to PC, or are you interested in seeing Riot’s games on consoles?
