Your main is safe: No Overwatch 2 hero balance nerfs or buffs planned just yet, says Blizzard

It’s been a rough launch week for Overwatch 2. In addition to a languid and unrewarding Battle Pass, players have been plagued by connection issues that prevent them from even logging into the game. It was the biggest Blizzard release we’ve seen in a long time.
If you do manage to get into the title, you’ll notice that changes to the game (or lack thereof) continue to be a frequent topic of conversation among Overwatch fans. Some are complaining that things feel too similar, while others are upset that players like Torbjörn and Bastion were temporarily removed from the game because they had unfair bugs.
But, now that we’ve seen those initial bugs fixed, we don’t expect any more massive changes any time soon. The developer behind the title, Blizzard, noted that it’s not planning “any immediate balance changes” for any of its heroes, other than perhaps a minor alteration to Zarya in one mode.
“While some heroes perform better than others and there are differences between players’ skill levels, we’re pleased to see that no hero’s overall power level falls far short of our goals. Each hero on the list has a win rate between 45% and 55%,” the studio noted. in a blog post.
If you’re expecting big changes, you’ll have to play thumbs down for Season 2; that’s when Blizz signals that it will implement more fundamental updates. With that in mind, the developer noted that he has a trained eye on tank heroes; now there is only one space for them, they are more important than ever. For Season 2, we may see a few more front-line alterations to Zarya, Junker Queen, and Doomfist (with Genji, Sombra, Symmetra, and Torbjorn also under the microscope thanks to their higher win rates).
Blizzard has also outlined a map rotation pool for each season. This is the Season 1 rotation for Quick and Competitive Play in Overwatch 2:
