Iron Gate Studio has released an update to its Viking survival game valheim during an initial public trial period.

Titled Hildir’s Request, the update welcomes you to Hildir, a merchant who will provide you with a large wardrobe of cosmetics. The character will also send you on a mission to retrieve the store’s inventory from him.

Sister of the mysterious hooded dwarven merchant Haldor, Hildir sells a variety of cosmetic offerings, including dresses, robes, hats, and even fireworks to decorate the night sky.

You can also purchase the necessary components to build a barbershop, where you can undergo a makeover to update your appearance. But these features won’t just appear, as you’ll need to gather the necessary pieces for Hildir’s Request across multiple biomes to get the rewards.

New difficulty levels and gameplay options are also landing in Valheim to enhance and spice up the overall gameplay.

The unforgiving nature of the game will reach even greater heights with the introduction of difficulty levels. Now, you can choose to activate easy, normal, or hard mode at any time during your game.

While normal mode will maintain Valheim’s current difficulty, hard mode will increase the enemy’s HP and damage output. Easy mode will give you the option to play a lighter and more indulgent adventure, especially if you play as a pacifist or builder.

Valheim came to PC Early Access in February 2021 to widespread critical acclaim, with the game quickly gaining an avid fanbase of millions. Since then, it has seen two major content updates: Hearth and Home and Mistlands, with releases on the Microsoft Store, PC Game Pass, and most recently Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Pass.
