Under the Waves is a narrative-driven adventure game about grief

Quantic Dream has announced under the waves by Parallel Studio.

Described as a narrative-driven adventure game about the “enveloping power of pain”, the game is set in the depths of the North Sea in a techno-futuristic 1970s.

In it, professional diver Stan struggles to overcome a life-changing loss and embrace a new future, and the island in the deep sea seems a fitting manifestation of his state of mind.

As Stan drifts deeper into his self-imposed solitude, he begins to experience strange occurrences far below the waves. Caught between life and death, Stan will have to make the most important decision of his existence.

While in the depths, you can pilot your submarine over the abyss or swim your way through caves, shipwrecks, and submerged plants in search of lore pieces, salvageable debris, collectibles, and more. The created equipment can also help Stan to explore more.

Under the Waves will launch on August 29 on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
