Fans of Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher can eat their hearts out tonight, as a new trailer for the show’s upcoming third season was just revealed at Summer Game Fest.

Chaos is coming. The Witcher Season 3 begins on June 29.

We’ve already seen a brief trailer for the third season of the show, which also gave us the release date. Fans can expect to see The Witcher season three volume one on June 29, with season volume two dropping on July 27. We only have a few weeks left, so it’s time for us to finally see a bit more of Geralt and his companions.

It’s also during the third season that fans will finally say goodbye to Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia and instead welcome a fresh new face; Liam Hemsworth. This is to the dismay of many, myself included, but we can only hope that Hemsworth gives his all and does Geralt justice.

What will the third season be about? The official synopsis for her reads: “As monarchs, wizards, and beasts of the continent compete to capture her, Geralt leads Ciri into hiding, determined to protect her newly reunited family from hers against those who threaten to destroy her.”

Charged with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the guarded fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to discover more of the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they find they’ve landed on a battlefield of political corruption, black magic, and betrayal. They must strike back, risk everything, or risk being lost forever.”

There is no doubt that the third season of The Witcher will be just as dramatic as the previous ones, although I can’t help but wish that Henry Cavill would stick around for longer.
