The Sims 5 Project Rene screenshots have leaked, showing off interiors, streets, and UI

As for leaks, they are often quite frustrating for most involved. Not only is the developer’s hard work shown prematurely, but many fans want to avoid spoiling surprises. That said, I’m actually welcoming the leaked screenshots of Project Rene, which will become The Sims 5, with open arms.

Why? Well, when Project Rene was revealed at the Behind the Sims Summit on October 18, we didn’t actually get to see much of the project. We witnessed a few minutes of initial content, which mainly focused on how we will be able to customize furniture, improve our buildings and play with friends.

Considering how early Project Rene is reported to be in development, I wasn’t surprised that we only saw this minimal amount of gameplay footage. As a huge fan of The Sims series, a series that now doesn’t attach predetermined narratives to its games, I’m eager to find out more about what Project Kermit will entail. There are no story spoilers to worry about, so while the leaks still aren’t great, I’d be lying if I said I’m not incredibly fascinated by the leaks associated with The Sims universe.

The leaks, in this case, were shared on reddit by a user who has since had his account deleted (or deleted it himself). They represent the interior and exterior of the buildings and are reportedly from a playtest that focused on construction and design; no Sim was present.

Looking at the screenshots, the upcoming game doesn’t look or feel all that different from its predecessor. The city streets certainly look more fascinating than the default worlds of The Sims 4, and there’s no denying that the interiors look even more customizable; It seems like a dream for those who find most of their fun in building and interior design.

That said, we’re still a few years away from seeing the evolution of Project Rene in The Sims 5, and that’s a long time before the things we know and love are added to the game.
