Tears of the Kingdom players keep getting kidnapped by Impa

Many players don’t seem to realize where you get the paraglider in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which resulted in Impa kidnapping everyone.

While Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s tutorial area is much more linear than Breath of the Wild’s Great Plateau, once you get off the massive sky island there’s probably even less direction on where to go than there is in the first game. So much so that many players are missing one of the most important elements of the game, if not the most important: the paraglider. Although you originally get the paraglider by completing the Great Plateau section in Breath of the Wild, it doesn’t seem to be as clear cut to some players in Tears of the Kingdom.
In general, the glider isn’t very difficult to obtain, it can be very easy to miss, and that resulted in Impa becoming a 20th century-style criminal. Early in the game, you’ll meet Impa in a particular stable, where he’s checking out the geoglyphs that have been appearing around Hyrule (need help finding them? We’ve got you covered). Once you talk to her, she’ll ask if you can help her rebuild her hot air balloon, and once you’ve done that, you’ll head off to heaven with her. Then, when you have taken a good look at the Geoglyph, she will tell you that you can paraglide down. The only problem for some players is that they don’t have the glider, which means that Impa essentially kidnapped Link.
Several players have been sharing their experiences for Redditwith some players asking what they need to do to get it. Fortunately, as she shared it IBurnedTheLetuce, you can go down without him, you’ll just have to almost kill Impa. If he finds a way to destroy the balloon or put out the fire, a short scene will play with Impa yelling “Ah! I’m falling! Help me!” before cutting to black. When the game returns, they are both safe and sound on the ground again.
Alternatively, you could just do what this player did and jump off and land on a horse. Easy peasy!
I thought Impa had given me the paraglider….
