Assassin’s Creed Mirage promises to take Assassin’s Creed back to its roots, and so far it’s looking great. In an all-new trailer shown at today’s Ubisoft Forward presentation, fans get a closer look at Basim’s coming-of-age story.
Mirage marks the series’ return to the stealthier gameplay that Assassin’s Creed is enamored of, with players mostly traversing Baghdad while practicing parkour, stealthily making their way through districts, and engaging in skilled melee combat. Mirage will also arrive in a smaller package with a shorter campaign duration than recent Assassin’s Creed titles, but it looks like it’s bound to pack a punch.
We already took a look at some games two weeks ago, and our own Jim Trinca thinks that Mirage might be forging the best kind of remake. Today, however, we were able to sit down and learn more about the story of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and its protagonist, a street thief turned assassin.
The new trailer shows off the stunning scenery of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and a glimpse into Basim Ibn Ishaq’s emotional origin story as he becomes a Hidden One.
Those eager to jump into Assassin’s Creed Mirage don’t have to wait much longer either. Mirage launches on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 12.
