Game lags are making a comeback again, and they’re certainly something Dead Island 2 hasn’t been a stranger to. That being said, Dambuster Studios’ zombie shooter has been delayed until April 28, 2023.
This is a short 12 week delay for the game. Which, in the grand scheme of things, isn’t a big deal. I mean, the game was first announced in 2014. It’s 2022. Do the math. Dead Island 2, frankly, has been through a lot of trouble when it comes to development teams and delays.
With that being said, Dambuster Studios and Deep Silver acknowledge this. the statement Regarding the delay, it reads: “The irony of removing Dead Island 2 is not lost on us, and we are as disappointed as you are, no doubt. The delay is only a short 12 weeks, and development is in the home stretch now.”
The delay announcement continues: “We are going to take the time we need to make sure that we can release a game that we are proud to release. For those of you who have been waiting for years, thank you for sticking with us.”
Honestly, if Dead Island 2 needs a couple more months in the oven to make it a game the developer is happy with, then I’m okay with that. Who wants to play another broken game about taking on hordes of the undead? I’ve had enough of that with the likes of Back 4 Blood and Rainbow Six: Extinction, so I hope Dead Island 2’s final polish makes the game everything fans have been waiting for and more.
Following the news of the delay, there will be a brand new trailer and gameplay footage shown during the Dead Island 2 showcase on December 6 to help you out. you can catch that Twitch, Youtubeor the dead island websiteand hopefully, it will prepare you for what is to come in April.
How do you feel about this delay? Will you pick up Dead Island 2 in April? Personally, it’s reassuring to see that the game is getting some attention, and I’ll definitely be sweeping Los Angeles in April.
