Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sequel appears to already be in development

First reported by the people of Tech4GamersA couple of job postings have popped up indicating that another Star Wars Jedi game is already in development.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched in April of this year to rave reviews, following 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. So it makes perfect sense for EA to consider another installment in Cal Kestis’ adventure; I just doubt many of us expected to hear news about it so soon.
The first of two job postings that will appear on EA’s career portal is for a Senior Visual Effects Artist, specifically for ‘Star Wars Jedi’. The second listing is for a Senior Combat Designer, for the Star Wars team; this, however, is specifically for the team at Respawn Entertainment, which is the team behind Star Wars Jedi.
The first list is particularly interesting as it requests experience with Unreal Engine 4 and mentions that experience with Unreal Engine 5 is also a plus. Could this mean that the next Star Wars Jedi game will be on Unreal Engine 5? We can wait.
In an extract from unfiltered IGN interview with the director, Stig Asmussen, state: “I always wanted to see this as a trilogy.” Combine this and the job listings with the overall success of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and it seems highly likely that a third game has already been greenlit and plunged right into development. However, the switch between Fallen Order and Survivor was four years, so we still have a while to wait.
That being said, the new job openings that have popped up still need to be taken with a grain of salt. They could be something, or nothing. Although it seems likely that we will see more of Cal Kestis in the future. What do you think of a third Star Wars Jedi game?
While you’re at it, have you seen Ubisoft’s Star Wars game? Star Wars Outlaws looks pretty fun too and is set to release in 2024. It definitely seems to entertain a lot of Star Wars fans while they wait for a new Jedi installment, that’s for sure.
