David Grivel, who was destined to direct the next fragmented cell remake, apparently gone Ubisoft.
shared by CVGGrivel shared a post on his LinkedIn where he announced his departure from the studio, although he did not explain why he made the decision to do so. “After more than 11 years at Ubisoft, now is the time to embark on a new adventure,” Grivel wrote in the post.
“11 years is a long time and summing it up in one post is almost impossible, but I have to say I’ve been lucky. Lucky to work with so many great people over the years. I’ve made so many friends… As for what? What new adventure is it? Stay tuned.”
Grivel also did not elaborate on what this new venture might be, nor did he say who would take over the Splinter Cell remake project as a result of his departure from the company.
Splinter Cell remake was first announced last yearwhich is being developed at the leading Far Cry 6 studio, Ubisoft Toronto, and is being made using the Snowdrop engine, which is the same engine that the now-delayed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is being made on, as well as the game Star Wars, the developer. is working
Not much is known about the game yet, a classic ‘yes it’s real’ and then not having much to say beyond that kind of situation. It’s being built from the ground up, and producer Matt West said last year that it was in a very early stage of development, so it’s probably still a while away, especially now.
Last month, a job listing noted that the game would have a story rewritten “for a modern audience,” meaning trying to keep the game close to the spirit of the original, but making it a bit more “believable.”
