Silent Hill: Ascension revealed: a live, interactive event happening in 2023

During today’s Silent Hill stream, we not only saw the reveal of Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill Townfall, and Silent Hill F. We also got the lowdown on the reveal of a new movie, Return to Silent Hill, and something else. unusual… Silent Hill: Ascension.
This is perhaps the biggest thrill we’ve had since it was through PT, the playable trailer for Silent Hills. This was going to be Hideo Kojima’s version of the series, and given the demo, people were preparing very hard for Silent Hill to scare them senseless again. That said, Silent Hills did not see the light of day and PT remains an enigma.
It’s been many years since we’ve heard of Silent Hill, so it’s quite nice to see the series attempt to return in full force, in the form of multiple media types.
Silent Hill: Ascension was teased during the broadcast, and it appears to be some sort of live event for fans of the franchise to get involved with. During the preview, we saw snippets of messages discussing whether they could save her or advising someone to run. This leads everyone to believe that it will be some kind of interactive community broadcast.
It was also revealed that Ascension was created in partnership with JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot Games, the developer of Dead by Daylight Behavior Interactive, streaming software specialists Genvid, and dj2 Entertainment, who specialize in adapting games for television.
It was then discussed how Silent Hill: Ascension was inspired by streamers who played Silent Hill live and freaked out along with their audience. Ascension will be a live event and a series, and it looks like those who watch it will decide how it all plays out.
Finally, we are reminded that there is no reset button in Ascension, and that it will be up to viewers to “shape the Silent Hill canon forever.” This is certainly an interesting concept for the Silent Hill universe, and I can’t wait to get involved, but I hope it’s not just a bloodier version of Black Mirror’s Bandersnatch.
