Scorn brings its fleshy world to PS5 later this year

Last year’s previously Xbox exclusive HR Geiger-inspired survival horror game Disdain It’s coming to PS5 later this year.
After a very long development period, Scorn was finally released on Xbox Series X/S and PC last year, to somewhat mixed reviews, albeit mostly on the positive side (including ours). Now, as revealed in the PlayStation Blog, Scorn is making its way onto the PS5, bringing the decidedly meaty game to a whole new audience. While the game only has a vague “later this year” release window, the blog went into some detail behind the port, including how the DualSense controller will deliver a new experience.
“While developing the game for PlayStation 5, we finally had the opportunity to harness the potential of the DualSense wireless controller to further immerse you in this twisted world,” technical artist Jovan Vučković writes in the blog post. “It allows us to deepen player immersion and let everyone ‘breathe’ in a new way. Since there is no spoken dialogue in the game, we have placed a strong emphasis on environmental storytelling, so haptics are a great addition to this peculiar audiovisual experience”.
The post also notes that the controller’s adaptive triggers will behave differently based on different weapons or tools used, as they all have a “subtle but different sense of weight.” You’ll also find that the light bar will correspond to your in-game health, to give you a better idea of how you’re doing, considering how minimalistic Scorn’s user interface is.
Collectors will also be happy to know that a physical version of the game is also coming to PS5, specifically a deluxe edition that includes a digital art book, a digital copy of the soundtrack, and a steelbook.
Scorn will be available on PS5 later this year and is currently available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
