Resident Evil 4 Remake doesn’t mess with the attaché case storage inventory

If you are a fan of Resident Evil 4, chances are you’re also a fan of storage cases. Finding the most convenient way to fit all of your items into one case may not be everyone’s favorite pastime, but rearranging Leon or Ada’s storage was definitely an oddly satisfying moment for many.
In fact, the briefcase item storage was such a hit that someone made their own spin-off game. Save Room – Organization Puzzle It literally took the briefcase from Resident Evil 4, and even some of the items you’d normally expect to find inside, and turned it into a game of its own.
The object of the game is to place all the items in your briefcase in each level, and if you’ve spent any time with Resident Evil 4, this will come almost naturally to you. That said, a game dedicated solely to rearranging your inventory isn’t exactly great, but it does go to show how appreciated Resident Evil 4’s briefcase really is.

I recently got to spend some time playing through the beginning of Resident Evil 4 Remake, and was really impressed by the direction it seems to be going. Right off the bat, there were a few things I needed to know; How has combat changed? Does Leon still say “bingo”? And how scary does the man with the chainsaw look now?
Among these questions that I wanted to have answered, I was also wondering what the inventory would look like. Would we still have the briefcase, giving me yet another reason to waste my time rotating ammo in the slots and doing anything other than playing the actual game?
The briefcase, in fact, is still alive. From the looks of it, he also remains relatively unscathed. This was one of the little touches that Resident Evil Village could have once again included, but didn’t. While the Village’s inventory space was still reminiscent of the briefcase, it still can’t compete with Resident Evil 4’s inventory.
The only unanswered question regarding the briefcase is how to upgrade it. During my time with the new version, I was unfortunately not able to meet the illusory trader and see what products he has to offer, such as a case upgrade. So now, we must wait and see if our briefcase organization wishes are fully met, however I suspect the Merchant will still be involved. Why wouldn’t he?
