Remember V Rising? It’s temporarily going free-to-play, with a free Halloween-themed DLC
[ad_1]
V Rising is Stunlock Studios’ vampire survival game that hit Early Access in May of this year. The indie gem not only surpassed 500,000 sales in its first three days, but eventually hit over a million in just one week.
That said, this initial excitement for the game has definitely faded over time, but there are still thousands of people playing V Rising every day (according to SteamDB). So while vampire life wasn’t for the few hundred thousand who initially bought the game, there’s no denying that it has a level of vampire charm that has some players hooked.
If you’ve never tried V Rising for yourself, now is a better time than ever. Just in time for Halloween, V Rising will be free to play on Vapor of October 28 to November 1. The massive open-world RPG lets you start your own empire, while avoiding sunlight and hunting for blood, and if you don’t mind a brief push for success, you’ll likely find something to love about V Rising.
In addition to the free weekend of the game, Stunlock Studios also released a huge update for V Rising that addresses the usual bugs and other needed fixes, but the update will also introduce the new Mad Hunt preset to the servers. You can go ahead and check out the details in the patch notes. via Stunlock blog post in the event
The Mad Hunt preset changes server settings and ultimately randomizes V Blood locations, V Blood spell unlocks, and V Blood technologies across the map. Of course, Stunlock has made sure that there are certain limits so that players can acquire all the technologies they need at one time or another.
Last but not least, all V Rising players will be able to get a free Halloween-themed DLC pack called the Haunted Knights Castle Pack; is available from October 24 to November 7, so you have some time to complete each mission and acquire each item.
As for the elements included, you will be able to get a lot of objects that will help you to fix your castle and prepare it for Halloween. For example, you will be able to obtain the following (after completing their associated journal quests):
- Haunted Nights Wall Decor (2x Wallpapers)
- Haunted Nights Pumpkin Lanterns
- haunted nights stained glass window
- Haunted Nights Rugs
- Haunted Nights Floating Pumpkin
- Enchanted Nights Standing Mirror
- Skull Candles Haunted Nights
- Pumpkin laughing at enchanted nights
- Smiling Pumpkin from Haunted Nights
- Wailing Pumpkin from Haunted Nights
- Haunted Nights Web Curtains for Pillars, Walls and Windows
- Haunted Nights Casket
- Haunted Nights Small Stash
That’s it for the latest from V Rising, so here’s to a merry feast of blood, and if you need help with the starting grind, we’ve got plenty of guidance on how to collect Blood Essence, what the best weapons are, and how to play PvP!
Will you be picking up or revisiting the game during Halloween, or have other horror-filled titles caught your eye? I read these comments and love to see what everyone is playing!
