Pikmin 4 demo has arrived alongside a lengthy new trailer

Pikmin 4 is finally around the corner after a decade of waiting for it. Starting on July 21, we will embark on our adventure to rescue Captain Olimar with the help of a bunch of little plant-like creatures. However, if you’re looking forward to jumping into Pikmin 4 as soon as possible, I’ve got good news; A demo of the game has been released today.

This demo has been accompanied by an extensive seven-minute gameplay overview trailer, so those embarking on the space adventure know what to expect.

The trailer description reads: “Join small plant-like creatures called Pikmin and the adorable rescue pup Oatchi as you explore every nook and cranny of this mysterious planet. Rescue stranded castaways in strategic Dandori battles, collect treasure above and below the planet, embark on daring nocturnal expeditions, and much more!

The trailer shows off many features that players will get involved with, and even raises the age-old question of “What are Pikmin?” without answering it; simply explaining how ready for action the Pikmin are and what they can do instead.

I tried to answer the question ‘What are Pikmin?’ myself, last week, while he was writing all about what the heck is rescue pup Oatchi (and gluing several dog noses on him). I still don’t know anything, all I know is that Pikmin are plant/animal hybrids and Oatchi looks like a plant/animal hybrid and an alien.

Regardless of what Pikmin are and what Oatchi actually is, there’s no denying that Pikmin 4 looks the part. I’m certainly looking forward to commanding my own army of them and having them dash headfirst into rocks, walls, etc. What do you think of Pikmin 4 so far? Will you do it by testing the demo?
