The max level in Diablo 4 is 100. If you play the game normally, with a mix of story and side quests, you’ll probably finish the main campaign at around 40-45, which means your character has more than that many. levels to reach.

So how many people actually made it to level 100? According to Blizzardonly 6,263 so far.

Reaching level 100 is an important milestone for several reasons. For one, leveling slows down considerably after reaching level 50. The midpoint is when you unlock the Paragon board, which basically means you’ll spend the rest of your journey building and refining, since most of the focus is the unlocks would have finished by now.

Still, 6,263 seems a bit small for Blizzard’s best-selling game, and one that (probably) sold millions. Far fewer people reached level 100 in Hardcore mode, the game’s permadeath mode: 163 players. That’s why the race to reach level 100 in Hardcore was a great moment.

Of course, the game was only available on June 1 (if you paid for the more expensive editions) and June 6 to the general public. No matter how many power leveling methods you follow, there just isn’t enough time for players with jobs/family and other commitments.

Real world obligations aside, there has been a growing feeling among the community that Diablo 4 simply becomes too boring after level 50. There are also concerns that when the seasons do launch, it might take too long for players to learn. Reach higher levels for the journey to be exciting.

We’ll find out if Blizzard will make any leveling curve changes when the first season launches sometime in mid-July.

In other news, Diablo 4 has raked in over $666 million in sales so far.
