Obsidian CEO says it’s “not even a question” if the studio would do another Fallout

Fallout New Vegas fans would love a Obsidian developed game, and a new interview with the studio’s CEO shows that he would love to do another one as well.
It was the 25th anniversary of the original Fallout earlier this month, and to celebrate dual shockers spoke with Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart about whether the studio would ever return to the series. “If we ever got the chance to make another Fallout game, we would,” Urquhart replied when asked if Obsidian would agree to work on a new game.
“There’s not even a question about whether or not we would do it, it’s just ‘Will the opportunity present itself?'” Urquhart continued. “I stayed at Interplay for probably another year because I wanted to work on Fallout more. I love Fallout.” Obviously, he’s not the one saying it will happen, but fans were hoping it would be possible, as Microsoft acquired Obsidian in 2018 and later acquired Fallout rights holders Bethesda by purchasing its parent company ZeniMax Media.
Of course, the next IP from Bethesda that everyone is waiting for is star field, originally scheduled to release next month, but was ultimately, and unsurprisingly, pushed back to 2023. Although it was announced in 2018, we’ve only gotten a glimpse of the game, when it received its first gameplay trailer during Xbox and Bethesda’s GameShowcase. back in June. Starfield doesn’t currently have a release date, but it should release in the first half of 2023, giving Bethesda plenty of time to show off more of the game.
While an Obsidian-developed Fallout is only hypothetical, Todd Howard has said the words Fallout 5, though don’t get your hopes up that it’s coming out anytime soon, as it’s expected to be the next game after The Elder Scrolls 6, also announced. in 2018. So he expects Fallout 5 in 2030 or so.
