New Elden Ring patch nerfs Endure Ash of War and attempts to fix Inescapable Frenzy…again

A new Elden Ring patch has just been released, rushing to fix various pain points in the game that were making PvP and PvE content light work. The objectives? war ashthat was completely nullifying incoming attacks and turning online duels upside down, as well as inescapable frenzy which was still not quite right despite numerous nerfs keeping it down.
Patch 1.07.1 is available right now, which means players will need to restart their game and download the update to receive these fixes and play online. A sad time for those abusing Endure lately, but great news for everyone else.
But what exactly is the story behind Ash of War Endure? Well, as of patch 1.07, you were able to cast it through a generous window of full invulnerability to attacks. It was already good before patch 1.07, but since that patch it extended its duration to 3 seconds (more than enough time for a big heal or an unpunished attack), and also removed options to counter it with blood loss or freeze effects. , turned you into an unstoppable giant.
As such, people were obviously taking it into PvP and wreaking havoc. With three seconds of invulnerability to attacks, you can slice through any incoming attacks with ease and make fights one-sided. The solution to this came quickly and, frankly, thank God.
Inescapable Frenzy also got a tweak in this patch, and while it hasn’t had as much of an impact on the metagame recently, it’s an enchantment with a history of being totally OP and devastating nerfs. In the past, it scaled with the crit modifier on your primary hand weapon, meaning you could slap a good dagger and go around people with a single shot. Players later realized that the Frenzied Flame seal could be used with both hands on the left hand to get a similar effect.
The nerf this time isn’t to stop anything so dramatic, it just fixes the FP reduction since you weren’t losing the amount that was intended, but it’s interesting how much pain this particular spell has shown in previous patches. Who could have guessed that a grab could be a bind?
That ends the patch! Has this altered your build in any way? Let us know below as well if you have any horror stories from PvP abusers of Endure!
