MultiVersus patch 1.05 gives us Black Adam, arcade mode, and some chaos with the silly queue

MultiVersus Patch 1.05 is here, and Black Adam has finally been added, as well as the anticipated arcade mode, along with a few other additions and changes.

The Rock will likely be pleased to learn that his beloved anti-hero has arrived in MultiVersus, after first being announced back in August. You’ll also be able to put a slightly different outfit on her for 800 glamium, which gives her a more classic look, and wearing this particular skin will net you extra candy during the Halloween event.

The arcade mode alpha has also been reduced, something fans of the game have been waiting for since its release. In this mode, you will be able to play with a friend to fight against waves of variants of “your favorite iconic characters”, and you will have three difficulties to choose from (easy, medium or hard). If you manage to beat one of the difficulties, you will get a star for the character you played as, with unlockable stars for both 1v1 and 2v2.

Medium and Hard modes also feature three boss fights, one of which will be your rival nemesis. More is planned for arcade mode, and player first the games will be attentive to the comments.

Also introduced in this latest update is the goofy queue, which will allow you to “take a break from being competitive and enjoy some unbridled mayhem.” This mode is designed to be much more casual, with some modifiers to spice things up a bit, of which there will be three to start with. One of them is growth spurt, which “causes fighters to grow dramatically in size as they deal damage. Rack up some damage and engage in giant monster battles!”

A bunch of cosmetics have also been added, like Ultra-Warrior Shaggy, which gives the munchies-wielding mystery solver Bugs Bunny Tune Squad a beard and a pair of boxing gloves, which comes in two versions (one with the original skin from Space Jam, the other from the sequel), and a Tune Squad searches for Taz as well. He too can pick up the BMO announcer pack for an incredibly charming time, and Black Adam’s legendary profile icon references a somewhat meme-like image he might have seen in the recent film.

There are also a variety of balance changes for a variety of characters, which you can read about in the full patch notes. here.
