Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak title update 3 detailed, hits November 24

During today’s Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak digital event, Capcom announced that the free Title Update 3 will be released on November 24.

The update introduces three new monsters, more options to customize the appearance and performance of weapons and armor, plus changes to anomaly investigations, anomaly quests, and the follower system.

The new monsters are Chaotic Gore Magala, Risen Teostra, and Risen Kushala Daora.

Gore Magala repeatedly shed their skin until they finally mature into Shagaru Magala, however a defect can sometimes occur during the shedding process. This deformation traps the Gore Magala halfway between its adolescent and mature states, creating the Chaotic Gore Magala variant. Their dual nature allows these creatures to use Gore and Shagaru Magala’s attacks, however their stunted growth also causes them intense agony. Hunters above MR10 who can dispatch the monster will be rewarded with materials for new weapons and armor with unique abilities.

Risen Teostra and Kushala Daora both have Risen forms, and when in a state of rage, they will unleash devastating attacks. To fight them, you will first need to reach the rank of MR120 before taking on Risen Kushala Daora and MR140 for Risen Teostra. Beating both will grant access to materials capable of crafting weapons and armor with new abilities.

Upcoming content will also let you tackle the new A7 Star Anomaly Quests, featuring Flaming Thorns, Scorned Magnamalo, and Seething Bazelgeuse.

Additionally, the anomaly research system will raise the level cap to 200, with the added ability to lower the level of individual quests that hunters already own. Materials from Anomaly Investigations can also be used for new upgrade categories for both weapons and armor. With the ability to choose between “Defense” or “Skills” for armor upgrades, there are even more opportunities for hunters to build their ideal armor set.

With the update, you’ll also be able to take your followers with you on almost all Master Rank quests, including Anomaly quests and investigations. Make sure you complete all available follower missions first.

Title Update 3 also includes a variety of new paid DLC, including new emotes, decals, music, player voices, and the “Hinoa” layered armor set. You’ll also be able to purchase individual weapons or the entire “Plush Monster Series” collection, along with an expanded list of other unlockable layered weapon options.

New Event Quests will reward you with new equipment, stickers, poses, and other items, plus the new voice of the character Kagami that will be released as free DLC.

Future title updates with new monsters and more are in the works in Free Title Update 4 to be released in Winter 2023, and Free Title Update 5 in Spring 2023.
