Modern Warfare 2 brings back extra loadout slots, but only for PlayStation

modern warfare 2 has been officially released worldwide on all platforms. To celebrate the launch, PlayStation revealed a set of exclusive bonuses for PS4 and PS5. Of course, we already knew about the Oni Operator pre-order bonus, but that’s not all.
There are five bonuses available on PlayStation and nowhere else. Some of them are permanent, others are recurring, and few are one-time.
Starting with XP, the Party XP bonus returns. If you play in a group on PlayStation, you will get 25% more XP for weapons. This is a bonus we’ve seen in recent years, but at least it applies even when playing with non-PlayStation players.
Every month, PlayStation will get a 24-hour double XP event. This is another return bonus. PlayStation Plus members also get a free pack each season. Packs come with unique operator skins, weapon blueprints, charms, and other cosmetics.
As CharlieIntel discovered, things get a bit more interesting as you go down the list.
If you buy any Battle Pass bundle, which normally gives you the pass along with 20 tier skips, you’ll get an additional 5 tier skips. This is an ongoing bonus, which means that every time you purchase the same pack for future seasons, you’ll get an additional five level jumps.

But the one that takes the cake are the additional charges. If you’re playing on PlayStation, you’ll have two additional loadout slots permanently available for you to use, once you’ve unlocked the ability to create a loadout. This may not sound like much, but the ability to have extra charges is something that Call of Duty players have wanted for years.
It used to be something you bought from the in-game store, but Activision stopped making it. With the advent of Warzone and other modes where loadouts matter, the default number just wasn’t enough. For the feature to return, just to make it a PlayStation exclusive, is a bit tiring.
Realistically, this suggests that players will be able to purchase additional loadout slots in the future, as this has been shown to be possible.
This, of course, is nothing new. Sony has had the exclusive partnership with Activision on Call of Duty for almost the entirety of the last generation, and it will likely continue for the current generation as well.
Previously, bonuses ranged from 30-day early access to map packs (where they existed) to year-long exclusive modes (such as Survival in Modern Warfare 2019). However, with the death of map packs, the bonuses have been reduced and mostly include exclusive skins, packs, and other cosmetics.
However, it’s rather ironic given PlayStation boss Jim Ryan’s statements against Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision out of fear it could affect the experience of PlayStation players.
