Metal Gear Solid, MGS2: Sons of Liberty, and MGS3 Snake Eater coming to PS5 in 2023

it’s a great day for solid metal gear fans. In addition to the announcement of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam later this year, we also hear via the codec that a compilation of three classic MGS titles is also coming. to PS5 in ‘fall/autumn’.

If you’re looking forward to replaying the early days of the Metal Gear Solid series, you’ll be pleased to hear that they’re coming out of the shadows in the form of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 1.

The first of a supposed set of compilations will include the original Metal Gear Solid, Sons of Liberty, and Snake Eater.

At the time of writing, there is no word on a more specific release date, nor if the collection will come to other platforms besides PlayStation 5. Since the Snake Eater remake is also targeting PC and Xbox Series X/S I hope this isn’t locked to just PlayStation 5… but you never know what marketing deals are going on behind closed doors.

Grizzled box-loving veterans will remember that this isn’t the first time Snake’s adventures have been condensed into one place. There was a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection that was also originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360, and also included the first three MGS games, as well as Peace Walker and the two original Metal Gear games. Perhaps those other titles are what we can expect from whatever Master Collection 2 has to offer.
