Low-poly Battlefield-like BattleBit Remastered outsells Starfield on Steam top sellers

BattleBit Remastereda blocky shooter created by just four people, it has rocketed to the top of Steam’s best seller list, beating out games like cyberpunk 2077 and star field.

Some people like to talk about graphics as if they are the most important thing in all games, but we all know that most of them are pretty trivial. That has been tested quite effectively on Steam recently, as the current best seller on steam it’s a game called BattleBit Remastered, a “low-poly massively multiplayer FPS, supporting 254 players per server.” Take a look and you might think it looks like a multi-gen game, but clearly something is shocking fans.

The game costs just £12.79, which makes that achievement all the more impressive as that means it earns more than games like Starfield (sitting in 7th place at the time of writing), Cyberpunk 2077 (5th place) , Steam Deck (4th place), and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (2nd place), the latter of which is free to play.

Starfield is obviously in the top 10 due to the recent showcase, which will obviously have got people excited, and Cyberpunk 2077 is halfway there at the moment, which explains why the Steam Deck is also expensive, so it’s not a surprise either. .

BattleBit just launched this week, in an early access release as is the standard for many games of its ilk. Reviews are currently very positive, with over 7,000 players offering their opinions on the game, some of them saying something like “it’s Battlefield if Battlefield was any good”. For context, Battlefield 2042 was generally received negatively by fans, though despite that, its fifth season won’t be its last.

Essentially if you’re looking for something to fill that battleground shaped hole in your heart this is the game to pick, destructible environments, massive scale and vehicles and all.
