Those of you hoping to pick up a physical copy of Like a Gaiden Dragon You may need to import one from Japan, as it’s unclear if a physical version will be released in the West.

Earlier this week, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio finally gave us a proper look at the upcoming Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, as well as a November release date. The game once again returns to the action genre, bringing back the fighting combat style last seen in Yakuza 6. But, as reported by eurogamer, there seems to be a bit of confusion as to whether or not the game will be released physically in the West. If you head to the game websiteYou can see that it specifies that you won’t be able to get a physical copy on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, or PC, as it states that “no physical edition will be released” even though a planned physical PS4 version is required.

The only problem is that there is no mention of a physical release of any kind in the West, nor the United Kingdom either US websites that mention something about the game one receives. Heading over to any of the sites and clicking on any of the PlayStation, Xbox, or PC links only takes you to the respective digital stores of the different platforms. Yakuza fan page kamurochobros shared the claim that a physical release in the West is not planned, also saying that he has “talked to retailers who have reached out to Sega”, learning that “there is no physical ESRB version of Like A Dragon Gaiden. It will be a digital-only title.”

Lots of indie titles are releasing digital-only all the time, though it looks like it could become a bit more prevalent for smaller AAA titles in the next few years: Alan Wake 2 was also recently confirmed as a digital-only release, despite the fact that Remedy released their other titles physically up to this point.

Like a Dragon Gaiden will be released on November 9.
