If Fable is at the Xbox Showcase you’ll see in-game or in-engine footage

The upcoming Xbox Showcase and Starfield Direct will not contain CGI-only trailers for first-party titles, as confirmed by head of marketing Aaron Greenberg.
We’re less than a week away from the Xbox Showcase and Starfield Direct, with the double feature set to air live on June 11, starting at 10 am (Pacific Time). Running for a long two hours, Showcase will no doubt be packed with content from start to finish, and it has since been confirmed that none of the first party trailers shown will be solely pre-rendered.
Aaron Greenberg, Xbox’s vice president of game marketing, took to Twitter to confirm that “None of our first party games on the show are full CGI trailers. It’s all gameplay footage, engine footage, or gameplay footage with some cinematics. Each of our trailers will be tagged, so we hope it’s clear to our fans.”

It’s worth noting that Greenberg is specifically talking about first-party games, which means that any non-first-party title could still be on the lookout for a CG trailer. On top of that, Greenberg also noted that there will be “a few cinematics” throughout the reveals from his first party. So you might still see some CGI.
In another follow-up tweet, Greenberg also answered “no” to a user who asked if there would be a 12-month release window for titles shown during the event. He also confirmed that there will be no movie trailers during the showcase.
This is totally welcome. While CG trailers are great for building excitement, they don’t exactly give players a realistic look at the game and how the experience will unfold. What matters most, ultimately, is the gameplay and hopefully we’ll see a lot of it when Xbox Showcase and Starfield Direct air next week.
The one title that will be particularly interesting to watch, if it appears, is Fable. Fable fans have been waiting forever for any kind of news about the new Fable game, and what better time to share an update than during Xbox Showcase? Given Greenberg’s words, we should expect to see some gameplay or visuals in the medieval RPG engine if it shows up.
If you’re hoping to see the Xbox Showcase and Starfield Direct, you can tune in Youtube and Twitch from 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm BST, 7pm CET on June 11.
