In a strange but strangely satisfying turn of events, PUBG has embraced the 2022 Halloween season by inviting players to take part in a crossover with the acclaimed survival horror title, Dead by Daylight. Throughout Halloween, players can enjoy a new game mode that pits multiple players against a single killer hunter. But what do the survivors in PUBG’s Dead by Daylight crossover really need to do to succeed and win? We explain it to you so that you only have to play and win.

How to win as a survivor in PUBG Dead by Daylight Crossover

For gamers already comfortable with Dead by Daylight, you’ll be happy to hear that this version of PUBG is almost exactly the same in most ways aside from a few visual changes. The survivors are tasked with powering up generators throughout the map to restore power to two gates located somewhere within it, all while being tracked and chased by the vicious killer.

As a survivor, things at first glance are as simple as locating generators, turning them on, and escaping. You’ll need to power up these generators through a slow progress bar that will lengthen as you continue to repair. However, it gets more difficult when you have a random quick-time event where you have to click the designated button when the cursor lines up with the on-screen dial.

As you go, the Killer can also damage generators that haven’t been fully repaired, causing you to have to re-repair them until they’re fully operational. Once all the generators have been restored, he can open the doors to get out of the map. There is a timer to do this, so it is imperative that you leave as soon as possible, as you could get stuck there and lose. At this point in the game, you’ll need to do your best to get out the doors, but it helps to help out other survivors to get the whole team out and to safety.

It’s important to point out a few things that will help you succeed against evil assassins. For example, if the Assassin is chasing you, you can knock down wooden boards in some areas to block his path to you. You can also heal teammates and find useful items like smoke grenades from crates to distract yourself. If a teammate is too hurt, the Killer can hide him in red boxes around the map, though you can save him and help heal him so he rejoins the fray.

My best advice would be to split up from teammates whenever possible and regroup at generators to help each other out, as generator repairs go faster that way. You should also rescue the other Survivors if possible, as teamwork really makes the dream work in this game mode.
