Some of the coolest articles on Minecraft they are the heads and skulls that you can get from mobs, but very few people know how to get them. There are six types of heads that can be obtained in Minecraft: Zombie, Creeper, Skeleton, Wither Skeleton, Ender Dragon, and Steve. Read on to find out how you can get all six of the ghastly decorative heads!

zombie head
Zombie Heads can be obtained in a very similar way to Creeper Heads and Skeleton Heads in Minecraft. Getting zombie heads isn’t hard, but you will need a charged Creeper. Charged Creepers are Creepers that have been struck by lightning; lightning causes them to “charge up” and a batch more powerful, you will need at least one if you want to get a zombie head. Once you have a charged Creeper, pull a zombie into the blast radius of the charged Creeper. Once the zombie is close enough, power up the charged Creeper and run away as fast as you can! If the zombie gets caught and dies in the explosion, it should drop a zombie head.
creeper head
As with the zombie head, you will need a charged Creeper to get a Creeper head in Minecraft. However, this one is a bit trickier because you need to make sure the normal Creeper doesn’t explode before the charged Creeper can kill it. As with the zombie, you’ll need to lure a normal Creeper into a charged Creeper’s blast radius before you power up the charged Creeper; make sure the normal Creeper doesn’t get close enough to detonate while you’re pulling it. After the Creeper is very close to the Charged Creeper, turn on the Charged Creeper and run away as fast as you can. If the creeper dies in the explosion, it should drop a creeper head.
skeleton skull
Skeleton Skulls can be obtained using the same method used to obtain Zombie Heads and Creeper Heads in Minecraft. Although luring skeletons into the blast radius of a charged Creeper can be annoying because you’ll probably get shot at all the time, it’s at least a little easier than luring a Creeper. Pull the skeleton (while wearing enchanted missile protection armor) into the charged creeper and ignite the charged creeper. After it has lit up, run away to a safe distance as fast as you can. If the Skeleton dies in the explosion of the Charged Creeper, it should drop a Skeleton skull.

wither skeleton skull
Wither Skeleton skulls are easier to get in the sense that you don’t need a Charged Creeper to get them, although it can still be dangerous. Wither Skeletons are the only mobs that drop their heads when killed by a player, though the chance of a Wither Skeleton dropping their heads when killed is only 2.5%. To get Wither Skeleton skulls in Minecraft, you’ll need to find and kill at least a few dozen Wither Skeletons (unless you get incredibly lucky and head straight off). To do this, you’ll need to find a Nether Fortress in Minecraft’s Nether dimension; Once you’ve found a Fortress, simply kill as many Wither Skeletons as you can until you get a head.
ender dragon head
Ender Dragon heads are, surprisingly, some of the easiest mob heads to get in Minecraft (sort of). Ender Dragon heads can be found at the ends of End Ships in the End dimension. Once you go to the End and defeat the Ender Dragon, you will be able to explore the End Cities. Once you reach one of the End Cities, start looking for an End Ship. End Ships are large, boat-like structures filled with loot and unique blocks; Ender Dragon heads aren’t the only items worth getting from these structures! Once you’re done looting, head to the front of the End Ship where you should see an Ender Dragon head used as decoration. All you have to do to get the head back is break it and pick it up!
Steve’s head
Unfortunately, there is no current method to get Steve’s head in Survival mode in Minecraft. The only way to get a Steve head in Minecraft is to get it from the inventory menu in Creative mode. Because of this, Steve’s head is the rarest head in Minecraft.
Collecting mob heads in Minecraft can be tedious, but it’s worth it. Who wouldn’t want a wall of severed heads to decorate their Minecraft base? If you want to learn more about how to get rare blocks and items in Minecraft, check out Gamer Journalist’s many Minecraft guides.
