This Final Fantasy XVI demo gives players two parts of the game to try out. First up is the game’s opening prologue, and progress in this segment carries over to the full game. This particular demo is around two and a half hours long and will give players an insight into Clive Rosfield’s past and what events led him to where he is now.
Once players complete the opening prologue of Final Fantasy XVI, there is a special battle demo to play. Players will infiltrate a fort at night together with Torgal, Clive’s wolf, and Cidolfus Telamon in this action-packed two-hour segment, facing off against various enemies and bosses.
During this battle segment, players will not be able to transfer any progress. However, this part of the demo exists to give players a good idea of what the full scope of combat is in Final Fantasy XVI, and can be replayed as many times as you like.
Yeah PlayStation.blog’s new FFXVI gameplay details there is something to go by, players will be able to test Eikons while playing in real-time combat. The all-powerful Eikon creatures that the hosts can summon into battle, ultimately channeling the Japanese Kaiju culture of Ultraman, Attack on Titan, and Evangelion. I’m not even a huge Final Fantasy fan, and I’m even incredibly eager to see how these larger-than-life battles play out!
You can install the demo by going to the Final Fantasy XVI PlayStation Store page. Final Fantasy XVI launches on June 22 for PS5.
