Final Fantasy 16 patch finally lets you get rid of that aggressive motion blur

final fantasy 16 It may not have needed a huge one-day patch like most games (just a small one), but it did launch with a host of annoying settings turned on by default, with no way to turn them off.
It was also missing a few options that most games offer right off the bat. Many of those issues have been fixed with today’s patch, version 1.03. The update is out now on PS5 and it’s one that most gamers should appreciate.
The big news has to be the motion blur settings. After the patch, you will be able to adjust the intensity of the motion blur. What it is now is a maximum of 5, but you can turn it all the way down to zero to turn it off completely.
The force of motion blur in Final Fantasy 16 was quite a bit, especially if you opted to play in performance mode. But there was another element that contributed to how motion blur was perceived, and that is the incessant tracking of the in-game camera.
In Final Fantasy 16, the camera always center around the character in any setting. You want it in combat, sure, but not while running around the world. This constant camera shake correction made sensitive gamers feel dizzy, and the coarse motion blur didn’t help.
Fortunately, patch 1.03 allows you to disable camera tracking, both in combat and in normal motion. Speaking of the camera setup, the sensitivity scale is now much wider. You can go up to 20, up from the previous maximum of 10. That applies to both horizontal and vertical sensitivity.
Players who aren’t thrilled with the existing control schemes (or those who have been waiting longer to get the game) will be happy to know that Final Fantasy 16 now includes three new controller skins: D, E, and F. Unfortunately, you I still can’t reassign everything to your liking, but maybe one of the six layouts will suffice.
Finally, the patch also fixes several issues that the in-game menus sometimes had, such as not responding, lagging when changing pages, etc.
Final Fantasy 16 has sold and shipped digitally over 3 million units since its release. It’s certainly not the highest we’ve seen, but then again, the game is available on only one platform.
