Everybody’s looking a bit off on EA Sports FC 2024’s Ultimate Edition cover

USA has officially presented the cover of its inauguration EA Sports FC 2024 The Ultimate Edition cover art and… doesn’t look very good.
To say that the Fifa series, or EA Sports FC as it’s now called, is known for its top-of-the-line graphics would probably be overstating the truth. They’ve been amazing looking games, but they’ve always been useful, especially considering how often and how long EA has been releasing them. However, it’s hard to fault the box art for all the different entries, as they’re mostly pretty harmless. But earlier today, the EA Sports FC Twitter account shared a first look at the EA Sports FC 2024 Ultimate Edition box art and, well, you can take a look for yourself.
Where to start with this one? For starters, half the lineup of footballers presented to us looks like they all had their fake faces on their own bodies. Most of them seem to be meant to look directly into the imaginary camera lens, but for some reason there are a few that look to the side as if there is another camera taking pictures. It’s a haunting valley world that I didn’t know was possible, to be perfectly honest.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, everyone’s favorite footballer at the moment, Erling Haaland, is smack dab in the middle, which is in line with leaks suggesting he’ll be the cover star of the regular edition of the game. EA hasn’t revealed that one yet, but hopefully it will be a little less blinding than the Ultimate Edition cover.
At this time, not much has been officially revealed about the next update to the classic sports game. No release date has been confirmed, and neither have the platforms, although we can probably fairly safely assume it will be on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Let’s hope they tweak that cover a bit before it goes live though.
