Drive Impact is proving to be a nightmare for Street Fighter 6 players
[ad_1]
Street Fighter 6 has been out for over a week now, and it turns out that the most challenging enemy online isn’t Honda head-slamming or Ken’s Brazilian players, but Drive Impact. For those new to the game, or approaching forty, reacting to this new attack is proving problematic.
For those unaware, Drive Impct is a blunt attack available to all players that can absorb multiple hits before hitting the other fighter. If it hits them mid-attack, it stuns them. As you can imagine, this does a lot of damage, which gets even worse if he hits them in the corner. As such, it’s very important to avoid, cast, or counter a Drive Impact with your own Drive Impact.
The problem is that this attack tends to come off pretty quickly! Players can cast a Drive Impact whenever they want, and if you’re not looking for it, you’ll need to react in about a second to punish it. Blocking it is fine, but not if you’re in the corner. It’s a whole new layer of stress for those who might not be used to reacting to quick attacks. Since Street Fighter 6 has proven to be very popular, you can be sure that a lot of those new to the genre are getting eaten up by this.
The result? Salt, and lots of it. Spread across Twitter, Reddit, and other corners of the internet are numerous posts complaining about Drive Impact. Crying because other players are spamming Drive Impact it has become the new “stop fucking me bro”, a new battleground for those who can’t adjust to the new features.
If you want to get an idea if something in a fighting game is just a real problem, look at the fans of the genre and see if they are having problems too. Thanks to Japan-based gamer and influencer Majin Obama, we can watch Drive Impact take the soul out of even the most dedicated fans of the genre.
