Diablo 4’s latest patch fixed one of the most annoying visual bugs, and it was’t even in the patch notes

This week’s Diablo 4 patch made a lot of players happy. The update has been unanimously well received for buffing all classes, greatly increasing end-game XP gains, and fixing many bugs that have been in the game since its release.

However, as with most big games these days (and major patches), not all changes were included in the patch notes. The most dedicated fans often try to collect all the undocumented patch notes, and that is exactly what Diablo 4 does. reddit community has been doing since the patch was released.

Perhaps the most notable change not listed is an adjustment to the Necromancer’s Corpse Explosion ability. Previously, it left behind a blurry puddle that made it impossible to see drops on the ground and even made it difficult to see enemies standing in it.

This was a problem for Necromancers, but it was a bigger headache for anyone playing Corpse Explosion Necro. Considering how powerful the ability is, you can guarantee that it will always follow you when you get close to a Necro.

That pool is now significantly less opaque, and while it could use some more tweaking, at least now you can see blobs and enemies stuck in it. Everyone who plays Necros thanks you, Blizzard!

Next on the list is a slight change to the chest icon on the map, in the cities where the stash can be found. Simply put, the icon now shows an open chest, instead of a closed one. This doesn’t actually affect the behavior of the Stash, but it’s a nice update nonetheless.

In terms of new content, the patch sneakily added a new Helltide event, which is great, because improving XP gain from Helltides was a major change in the patch. Based on early calculations, XP payouts are now 80% higher for Nightmare Dungeons.

All of these are great to see, of course, especially for endgame players. Catch up on the rest of the changes in 1.0.3 in our roundup of the patch notes, and head over to our Diablo 4 guide because we have a feeling you’ll want to tweak your settings a bit after today’s improvements.
