Diablo 4 battle pass exploit is clever, but kinda pointless

Now that we’re (hopefully) on the other side of all the Season 1 launch day issues, the larger Diablo 4 community is ready to properly experience what Season of the Malignant has to offer.

While the idea of ​​seasons isn’t new to Diablo, this particular style is more like something you’d see in Fortnite, Call of Duty, or any other game with seasonal content and a battle pass. In the case of Diablo 4, seasonal progression is based on completing objectives that encompass pretty much everything you would normally do in the game.

The season’s journey is divided into chapters, with each chapter having more objectives than you need to progress to the next, allowing you to choose which one to tackle. When you finish an objective, you earn Favor, which is used to progress through the battle pass. Even more Favor is rewarded for completing the full Chapter, along with other rewards like Legendary Skins.

One of those goals (in Chapter 3) is grim reward, which asks players to obtain ten caches from The Tree of Whispers. This is an endgame activity that becomes available after you finish the Diablo 4 campaign, but if you’ve already done it with a character per hour, you can skip the campaign and immediately incorporate Whisper into your routine.

Considering how quickly Blizzard seems to be cracking down on grind/progression exploits (the preseason patch made power level obsolete, for example), everyone is asking Gumby785 to remove the post, lest it fall on Blizzard’s radar.

As tempting as it may seem to outdo Blizzard, with the recent nerf-happy patch, this cheat doesn’t actually save you time in the grand scheme of things. The Grinding Tree of Whisper objectives are already going to be a part of your journey regardless, so you’re going to earn a lot more than ten caches while playing normally.
