Cities: Skyline 2 just had a release date of October 24, with the game coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S later this year. The game will also launch on Game Pass, which is great news for those who subscribe to that service.
Cities: Skylines, the city management game, has come a long way since it ate Sim City for lunch several years ago. With the new game, Paradox Interactive seems to be lining up to evolve on their previously very popular game. You can check out the short release date trailer below!
Earlier this year, Paradox called this new game “revolutionary” upon its introduction (thanks to Rock Paper Shotgun), but until now we’ve yet to get a good look at proper gameplay. While what we see is small in terms of quantity, seeing buildings appear over time as the geography gradually changes is exactly what fans of Cities: Skylines probably want to see.
Then there are the glorious menus, as we see different views of cities and important details pop up. The game not only looks visually appealing, but it feels like the kind of macro and micro management that Cities: Skylines fans want is present.
What do you think of the trailer? Let us know below, as well as your thoughts on the rest of the Xbox Games Showcase. There have been a ton of great reveals today, including Avowed! You can check out our coverage of that trailer here!
