Cavill’s exit looms as Netflix releases a teaser for the conclusion to The Witcher Season 3

Henry Cavill’s stage as Geralt comes to an end with The Wizard Season 3 Volume 2, and to prepare you for its departure and to anticipate what is to come, Netflix has released a trailer for the season’s conclusion.
Netflix split season 3 into two volumes, with the first five episodes airing on June 29. The second volume, consisting of three episodes, will air on July 27.
There isn’t enough time or episodes for us to personally prepare for Cavill’s departure as Geralt. While we were one of the skeptics when he was cast, Cavill sold us on it in the first episode, and it’s going to be hard for us to see anyone else in the role (insert an exasperated Geralt muttering the f*** word here).
To that end, however, the show’s producers have assured audiences that Cavill’s turn to Liam Hemsworth in season 4 will be “flawless” and “traditionally accurate.” Apparently Geralt will undergo some kind of metamorphosis or something related to the books. We haven’t read all the novels yet, so don’t spoil anything for us.
While we’re not sure how Cavill will go, we just know he’ll be missed as Geralt. He did a good job, so toss the man a coin for that, at least.
Netflix announced in October 2022 that Cavill would hand over the Blades of the White Wolf to Hemsworth. In a statement, Cavill said he was passing the Geralt torch “excited to see Liam’s take on this fascinating and nuanced man.”
He sure has some pretty big shoes to fill and hopefully no one hates him too much. While we wish him the best of luck in the role, Cavill is certainly going to be missed.
Anyway, enjoy the preview of Volume 2 of Season 3 above, or skip it, if you haven’t seen Volume 1 yet.
