Can the Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 Series VALORANT Edition chair fix a person who refuses to sit normally?

Let me preface this review by saying that first of all, I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to what makes a great gaming chair. Sure, I know enough about chairs to tell the good from the bad, but I’d probably look like a deer in the headlights if you’d asked me a week ago about the differences between some of the most popular chairs out there. After all, I’m one of those people who sits in the worst way imaginable, and I don’t think any chair can fix me (or my back).

We sit down and discuss VALORANT’s newest map, Pearl, right here.

With that said, I can safely say that the difference between Secretlab’s Titan EVO 2022 series and my previous saddle, a mid-range kit from Luckracer (I was sold on the footrest) is unmistakable.

I’ll start by mentioning what really sets the 2022 Series apart from previous products in the company’s range. The Titan EVO 2022 series combines the best components from Secretlab’s Titan and Omega chairs, resulting in something that feels like the best of both worlds. There is no doubt in your mind when you take the chair out of the box that you have something high quality, with the smell of Premium Neo Hybrid Leatherette material permeating your nostrils.

This lumbar pillow is not included, but you get a stylish magnetic memory foam headrest.

This material may be fantastic quality, durable, and easy to clean in a pinch with a few leather wipes, but it’s no match for a cat. The chair, coincidentally, arrived while I was taking care of cats. And, of course, he was just as curious about the big box in the hallway as I was about its contents. Sure enough, as soon as he was done with the box, he went for the chair; she had no interest in snuggling into it, but in pulling the faux fur off the chair she had literally just built.

I’m guessing it’s a cat problem, rather than a chair problem, but it’s definitely worth considering if your cats are quick to claw at anything you own. No one wants to buy a premium chair only to have their furry friend destroy it a week later.

As for the build process, the Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 series is also easier to assemble than other chairs I’ve owned, given that there is a surprising lack of screws. I was able to put everything together during a lunch break, with enough time to eat lunch – success! With the VALORANT edition of the chair, your screws and bolts come packaged in a VALORANT-themed box, and your instructions are adorned on the back of a huge A2 VALORANT poster, which is a nice bonus if you’re a Riot fan. competitive shooter.

Also, the lack of bolts and screws is easily explained, as many of them were swapped out for magnets. Attaching the armrests to your chair takes seconds, and it’s now much easier to replace them too, thanks to magnets. Sure, it can cost quite a bit to order replacements, but at least you know you won’t have to mess around with them once they arrive.

The chair is also the perfect size for me as there are more size options to choose from for everyone. I bought a regular chair, despite being a relatively small person at 5’5″, and although I was initially concerned that I would have a hard time sitting cross-legged or like a gargoyle (don’t judge me), the chair offers plenty of room to sit without however clumsily I want. And with more comfort. With a 165° recline to boot, I can sit in any kind of ungodly position without feeling constrained by plastic parts. Although sometimes I sit and feel like I’m about to fall, that’s perhaps the only disadvantage of this chair.

My kneecaps no longer hit the armrests and this, oddly enough, has to be one of my favorite things about the chair. The Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 series is certainly larger than the average budget chair, and your entire body feels much more supported while sitting for several hours at a time, whether working or playing.

Now, let’s talk about my other favorite thing about this chair; sewing and embroidery. Sewn into the premium synthetic leather material is a mix of black, red, and silver stitching. This all matches the theme of the Riot Gun Buddy chair, which is highly sought after in VALORANT. The primarily black chair has red accents throughout, with VALORANT’s “Challenge the Limits” embossed on the back in multiple languages, above the game’s logo and corresponding icons for each in-game agent class.

I haven’t gotten my hands on a Riot Gun Buddy in-game yet, but this will do for now.

Not only does everything about the chair feel premium, but the design of the chair is unapologetically VALORANT, while remaining minimal enough not to be distracting or in your face. Finally, we already know that I can sit as awkwardly as I want in this chair, but how comfortable is it? Am I really supported? Yes.

For context, I’m 23 with a back that’s maybe 20 years older than me; I am constantly twisting and breaking, and my back hurts most of the time. It’s definitely my fault (see: sitting like a gargoyle), but the Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 series has controlled my posture. I don’t think my refusal to sit up properly will ever be fixed, but the steadiness of the 2022 Series certainly made me sit up straighter than ever.

The problem with the other chairs I’ve had is that they don’t feel nearly as firm or sturdy as this one, plus they usually all came with their own unwanted quirk: squeaky leather, wheels that just don’t roll on carpet . , or something somewhere wobbling. The Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 series is unyielding, easy to maneuver and (yet) doesn’t get hot or sweaty during long periods of sitting. The firmness of the chair that forces me into better posture than ever before is no miracle considering I’ve been using inferior chairs before, but I can say there is a noticeable difference in how my back feels after a day of I work now, compared to the chair I have. I had a few months ago.

All in all, the Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 series is a solid chair, albeit not cat-proof and quite expensive. That said, the price of the chair reflects a lot on the quality of the chair; everything feels premium. It’s smart, comfortable, easy to put together, and while only time will tell, the chair feels durable, too.

The final test was to see if a new chair, specifically a VALORANT edition of the chair, would make me better at Riot Games’ FPS title. Of course, it wasn’t. In fact, I performed significantly worse this time than before. Perhaps sitting like a gargoyle is the key to winning after all.
