Call of Duty player complains about his Modern Warfare 2 ban… in person at Activision studio

One player took their frustrations with the Modern Warfare 2 ban too far this week. First reported by the folks at pc gamerthis player went to the Activision studio located in Austin, Texas, hoping to speak face-to-face with a real member of staff about his problem.
Nor does it take mental gymnastics to figure out how all this happened. In a post on the r/Activision subreddit, which has since been removedthe player shared that he had been banned from Modern Warfare 2 on October 28.
They appealed their ban and it was denied. Most people would probably leave it at that and accept fate, getting excited in the meantime playing on a friend’s console and whatnot, but this Redditor, u/PlumContent, had another idea. Instead, the Call of Duty fan created a new Activision account with a new email, repurchased the game from Steam, and tried to play it one more time.
Unfortunately, the player was suspended again on October 29. As a result, he took steps no player should take and decided to go to Activision’s office in Texas on October 31st. “I ran into a security guard in the Activision parking lot. who told me he wouldn’t be able to talk to anyone,” u/PlumContent shared.
“After politely asking the guard to come to the office and explain the situation to an employee, the guard agreed to go talk to a worker. The guard came back to me in the parking lot and said the clerk had said they were understaffed and the unfair bans would take a few weeks to resolve.”
The user then shared their frustrations about spending so much money on a game they can’t play, to which the security guard apparently told them not to get mad at a video game. While I can understand this person’s frustrations, and undue bans have been a persistent problem with Modern Warfare 2 so far, I think most of us can agree that going to the developer’s offices is not a heroic way to solve a problem. In fact, it looks quite menacing and doesn’t help anyone involved.
Either way, u/PlumContent will sadly have to wait. It sucks a lot, but if this is real, it means that Activision is actively looking to fix these bans. That’s good news, at least.
