Blizzard is starting to take serious action against Overwatch 2 cheaters

Sounds like Snow storm is stepping up against cheating surveillance 2as it reportedly threatens legal action against a large cheat provider.

With any big new multiplayer game, there are going to be some major issues with cheating. While Overwatch 2 is just sort of a new game, it has attracted a lot of new players, so obviously cheating is going to be an issue at some point. As shared by Reddit user t33hee on the overwatch subreddit however, it appears that Blizzard is cracking down on cheat software, in this case a piece called Rijin.

User t33hee shared a screenshot of an announcement from the creators of the software announcing that it would soon be no longer available. “Dear Customers/Visitors,” the post reads and continues: “We regret to inform you that our support software for “Overwatch” (Copyright reserved exclusively for Blizzard) will no longer be available after 8:00 pm GMT. (as we dismantle the aforementioned services manually).

“Furthermore, no additional services may be performed in connection with this software, such as purchasing or using it. We know that our customers may be upset or angry by our decisions. Unfortunately, we have no control over the situation.” which is where the message on the screenshot on Reddit cuts off, though t33hee noted that he appears to have threatened some sort of legal action from Blizzard.

To be clear, the use of “assist software” as a phrase is specifically due to Discord’s moderation policies. From what I can tell, it’s directly referred to as cheating in almost every other place, so trust me, this isn’t something that’s really meant to help people.

It’s nice to know that Blizzard is cracking down on issues like this, but Overwatch 2 has another big problem: its monetization system, but that hasn’t stopped people from playing it.
