Bad news, Warzone 2 players: the Cronus still works, and it’s ready to make your life hell

Bad news for those hoping to avoid hardware-enhanced players in Warzone 2. Cronus Zen, which allows owners to mod their gear to give unfair advantages, seems to work in Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2.

One Youtuber, Lethal Panda, has several videos uploaded on the Cronus Zen, including one showing how to set up a “soft aimbot” for Warzone 2, using the Cronus Zen to counter the recoil of the weapon.

For those who don’t know, hardware like the Cronus Zen has been a thorn in the side of fair gamers online in Warzone (and many other FPS games). It allows you to alter the input of your chosen controller via scripts that can alter all sorts of in-game actions, the most obvious of which is recoil.

While the older Cronus models must be used through the PS4 version of the game on consoles, the Cronus Zen can be used on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. So while we have entered this new era of Warzone, those who spend a little extra money on some illicit hardware can still give them an advantage over others. Just like in previous years.

This obviously sucks. Raven Software and the Call of Duty development team in general have been fighting hackers for a while, but the continued presence of hardware fixes has meant that the problem has never really evaporated.

It remains to be seen if the company will fight (or even be able to) against these products, or if that is out of their hands. Just keep your eyes peeled for sketchy behavior.
