Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon’s story trailer looks cool as hell, is pretty depressing

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon The story trailer is here, and yes, it’s just as vague and impressive as other similar trailers from FromSoftware.
Do you want to know what is happening in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon? Me too! The story trailer won’t help much with that, but it looks great. “The reality of making a profit in Rubicon 3 is fraught with danger, especially when Handler Walter is involved,” describes a press release for the latest trailer. “Watch as Walter’s hounds execute his mission with ruthless tenacity, and get a glimpse of the events leading up to the start of Armored Core 6.” Essentially, it looks like this trailer acts as a sort of prologue to the game, similar to how the CGI trailers for Elden Ring also didn’t appear in the game.
The trailer essentially covers one mission with pilots ranging from 617 to 620. It’s all pretty intense, the collection of robots hurtling across the battlefield and facing off against enemies much, much bigger than themselves, while trying to destroy what looks like some kind of super weapon. It ends with all of them dying, by the looks of it (RIP), ending with you, C4-621 pilot, being given “a reason to exist.” Or, in other words, putting on a mechanical suit.
If CGI trailers aren’t your thing, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered, as last month FromSoftware and Bandai Namco released a gameplay trailer showing the game’s combat in action. The trailer also offered a glimpse of what it will actually be like to build your mech suit, showing you just how detailed you can get.
We’re just over a month away from the game’s release now, with the full game coming on August 25, where you’ll be able to pick it up on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
