Archeage 2 looks stunning — coming soon to PC and consoles

Archaeage 2 got an awesome new trailer over the weekend, showing off some gameplay for the upcoming sequel to the popular action MMORPG.

Along with this trailer, some information about the game was also released via XLGames CEO Jake Song, including the reveal that the game will be coming to both PC and consoles. Sadly, there was no word on a release date or release window, only “soon” was given as a hint as to its expected release.

For those unaware, Archeage has been buzzing as one of the few popular MMOs still alive and thriving in the modern ecosystem. Since its relaunch in 2019, it has attracted more than 20 million registered users. While it is especially popular in the East, it has also built a strong adventure player base in the US and EU.

As for what’s being revised from the original, aside from the visuals, Jake Song mentioned that the in-game trading system will be improved, as well as the skin and customization. They even go as far as stating their desire for players to “live in cities with their friends, and even [create] their own cities with the members of their guild.”

It certainly seems like a great time to be a fan of MMOs. with World of Warcraft; Dragonflight will be out soon and fixes a lot of that game’s problems, Archeage 2 will push the visual standard, and Riot Games will play with their own project behind the scenes, it’s hard to stay away from the genre right now.
