Yes, this is an honourable way to defeat The Butcher in Diablo 4

The Butcher, aka the Diablo 4 boss responsible for about 2% of player deaths in the game, it’s a threat. Unlike most bosses in Diablo 4, The Butcher isn’t a boss you can prepare for and fight on your own terms, so you’ll have to improvise.

This is because The Butcher is a roaming boss that will spawn randomly anywhere in the world, often doing so when you are low on healing potions and when you least expect it.

The Butcher is a formidable boss who will most likely kill you and disappear. You may never get your revenge until many hours later, until you are ambushed by him again. All he wants to say: it’s within his rights to use any form of “cheese” to take out The Butcher.

That’s what the Reddit user laloca1196 when they were ambushed by the tough boss. He didn’t just show up to chase the player, he did it together. three other bosses who were already fighting.

Crazycatlady1196’s solution? Use the Diablo 4 terrain to your advantage. It turns out that The Butcher doesn’t know how to handle the elevation. So if you find yourself near a ladder or hill, just hop up and throw it from the safety of your platform.

This is a pretty old trick, actually. Many of those unlucky enough to take on The Butcher, found out pretty early on that elevation is a huge weakness for the boss. Putting aside how slow and stunning the process is, you’ll still need a decent ranged ability to deal damage.

This won’t be a problem for Wizards, Rogues, and Necromancers. Other classes, however, are going to fight. Considering how diverse the build variety is in Diablo 4, you might not even have a single ranged ability at your disposal.

If you really must take down The Butcher, Diablo 4 allows you to re-spec on the fly. So you can always look for a good ranged build for your class, and quickly apply it and get the job done.
