Diablo 4 made $666 million in sales in under a week

Activision Blizzard has announced that Diablo 4 has earned $666 million in sales in the first five days of the game on sale alone. The number is likely to be adjusted a bit to fit Diablo’s satanic themes, but it’s an impressive milestone nonetheless.
The news comes a week after Blizzard announced that Diablo 4 is the best-selling game in its long history, so it makes sense that it managed to make so much money.
Unfortunately, the publisher has yet to reveal any sales numbers. The $666 million is based on direct sales, meaning copies are sold to customers and not simply shipped to retailers. More interestingly, it doesn’t include any microtransaction sales, which Diablo 4 has in spades, so the actual revenue from the game is likely to be much higher.
Diablo 4 was also the number one game on Twitch from June 1 (Early Access launch) to June 9. That also broke Blizzard records for hours streamed, as well as hours watched over a similar period. It helps that the company has partnered with Twitch for a huge, multi-week Twitch Drops event that will continue through July 3.
