The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gets an age rating in Korea

In possible good news for it to actually make its release date, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been ranked in Korea.
Earlier this week (November 18), Gematsu discovered that the Korea Game Management and Classification Committee had given Tears of the Kingdom a 12+ rating. While there’s obviously going to be a fair amount of work to be done before the game’s release in May, rated play is probably a good sign that it’s on track to not be delayed any further than it has been.
While Google’s translation is a bit crude, the ratings chart described the latest Zelda title as a “Nintendo Switch RPG where the setting for the adventure to find Zelda expands skyward.” The rating also noted that there is “mild violence” in the game due to being able to attack living things, which is part of the reason the game was rated 12+.
The speeding passage of time might make you think we’ve known what Tears of the Kingdom is called for a while now, but we only found out the name and release date a couple of months ago when Nintendo He finally told us in September. The 2017 sequel breath of the wild It’s obviously highly anticipated, but there’s not much we know about it (although we do have a helpful guide that tells you everything we know).
Obviously, the biggest difference is that this latest adventure takes Link to heaven once more, seemingly borrowing a bit from skyward sword, but it is still not clear what exactly we will do up there. I guess we don’t have to wait that long though, as Tears of the Kingdom is only six months away from launching on Switch on May 12.
