A teaser trailer for The Dark Pictures Anthology’s next game, Directive 8020, has leaked

Unless it’s The Sims 5, leaks in all their forms just suck. With that being said, someone leaked the trailer for the next installment in The Dark Pictures Anthology, Directive 8020 ahead of The Devil in Me’s release, which is tomorrow (November 18).
For context, The Devil in Me marks the end of the anthology’s first season, and in typical Supermassive Games fashion, there’s a hint or two about what’s next for the series. The trailer for Directive 8020, which was leaked to YouTube, appears to have been taken from the game’s conclusion.
This is not a complete shock to many, considering a series of found trademark filings by Andrew Marmo Earlier this year it seems to reveal the names of all the upcoming installments. That being said, no one had a clue what Directive 8020 is until this leak surfaced, unless you were one of the few with advanced copies of the game.
While you can currently watch the trailer for Directive 8020 in the embedded clip above, I’d suggest holding off if you intend to play The Devil in Me tomorrow. Experiencing the reveal as intended is exciting, and that’s exactly why Supermassive has tried so hard to keep it under wraps.
If you want to avoid spoilers, I’m not entirely sure why you’re reading this, but I’m going to dig into what the trailer implies; Close this tab now if you don’t want to listen to it!
Simply put, The Dark Pictures Anthology is moving away from the earthy, desolate sights and into a relatively strange, but just as uncomfortable place; space. The trailer begins with someone talking on the radio among the stars, as we witness a missing helmet and drops of blood floating in zero gravity.
Wherever we’re headed, it looks like this is going to be another game on a damaged ship in space where something has gone seriously and terribly wrong.
How do you feel about another sci-fi horror title coming in 2023? I’m not sure, but as always, I’m excited to see what The Dark Pictures Anthology does next. In the meantime, let’s not forget that The Devil in Me launches tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled for our review, or check out our interview with Game Director Tom Heaton in the meantime!
