A rather well-hidden Easter egg has been discovered in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) by an eagle-eyed Reddit user. The user, who took to the Flight Simulator subreddit to share your discoverydiscovered that you can actually play the first four Flight Simulator games in the series within the confines of Flight Simulator 2020.
In their post, u/HughesMDflyer4 shared the Easter egg and how they discovered it. The Easter egg itself was unveiled this weekend and was added to the game as a result of the 40th Anniversary Edition update for the simulation title.
If you want to see exactly how Flight Simulator plays out inside of Flight Simulator (2020), you’ll need to launch the game and load up a Diamond DA62. Once that is resolved, head to the cockpit and turn on the ELT. If all is well, the screen in front of you will display Flight Simulator… within your current Flight Simulator game.
You can also change the version of the game you are playing. At the top of the screen you will be able to choose between Flight Simulator 1-4 and therefore hours of piloting distractions to experiment with.
You can only play the games on this small in-game screen by clicking the on-screen buttons. This leads to a disappointing experience, compared to your usual gameplay, but it’s a nice easter egg to play on the Diamond DA62 nonetheless.
However, the Flight Simulator 2020 40th Anniversary Edition update didn’t just add this nerdy Easter egg. It also introduced a ton of new content for players, including four classic commercial airports, 10 glider airports, 14 helipads, 12 new planes, and 20 classic missions from the series’ past.
With all that in mind, will you be flying high in Flight Simulator anytime soon?
