343 Industries has released the winter update for infinity halo.
This is the biggest feature update to the game yet, bringing with it the co-op campaign, mission replay, Forge beta, and lots of new free content.
Campaign Network co-op supports cross-play across all Xbox and PC devices, with progress and unlocks shared between all players. This means that no matter what platform you’re playing on, you’ll bring your campaign completion, unlocked collectibles, unlocked Spartan Cores, etc., and all players will progress together, so it’s not just the host that benefits.
Along with the co-op campaign and mission replay, 24 new achievements have been added for the campaign, and lastly, the Forge beta.
Forge is Halo’s creation tool that features a set of additions and improvements with advanced and accessible tools. It launches with six canvas maps, a new visual scripting engine, object scaling, lighting and audio tools, bot support, budget boosts, file sharing capabilities, and much more.
The mode will continue to see updates and support over time, evolving to add even more content.
A Battle Pass that is completely free for all players and will never expire also comes with the update. That means even new players who may be coming to Halo Infinite even a few months from now will still get the Winter Update Battle Pass for free. It features 30 tiers of rewards and sees the return of highly requested and fan-favorite Halo: Reach themed cosmetics.
In the coming months, you can also look forward to two free events that will each bring an additional 10 reward tiers. In December, Winter Contingency will offer a series of holiday-themed cosmetics, and in January, the Joint Fire event will focus on JFO-class Mjolnir armor and other related cosmetics.
The Winter Update also comes with evolved features such as Match XP progression, an overhaul of Challenges, two new multiplayer maps: Argyle and Detachment, and a playlist addition includes Covert One Flag, a One Flag CTF variant.
In addition to all of this new content, Halo Infinite will also see some general tweaks and improvements to the overall experience. It also balances the sandbox, playlists are being reworked on a rotational basis, matchmaking experience is also being improved, local region matchmaking will make its debut, there is improved logic for CSR progression, improved rules for leaving with uneven teams and more.
