During the Xbox 25th Anniversary Live Stream, Age of mythology retold was heralded as a huge return for the fantastic Age of Empires spin-off. This happens 20 years after the release of the original title, which is a far-fetched thought, especially if you were old enough to play the game at the time.

With the announcement comes a small announcement trailer, which while it works as a quick hype builder for fans of the strategy series, it offers nothing in terms of gameplay or remake details. However, you can watch it below!

To accompany this announcement, a blog post was published where World’s Edge studio head Michael Mann talks about the full range of games announced during the live stream, including Age of Mythology. He writes: “We know that the Age of Mythology community has been waiting with hope for a Definitive Edition, and we will be delivering it. We are working hard to bring you the glory of the original game with updated graphics, features and more.”

Speaking of other games, we saw an Age of Empires console trailer, mobile versions, Age of Empires IV Anniversary Edition, and merch shown during the stream. So all in all, quite an event for Age of Empires fans, who have been eating well over the last few months and years, as the series looks to be heading into 2020 with some really great titles.
